Rose Quartz For The Zodiac Signs (Explained)

We can determine a crystals association to zodiac signs in several different ways; planet association, birthstones and the crystal’s ability. Below I’ll briefly explain each.

Planet Association

We can determine which zodiac sign matches with a crystal by looking at the ruling planet. Every crystal is associated with a planet or celestial body, and so are the zodiac signs. When we say a sign is ruled by a planet, we simply mean that this planet has more power over a sign compared to other planets.
Rose quartz is associated with Venus, the planet of love and romance, which rules Taurus and Libra.

Birthstones were created by allotting a different crystal or gemstone to a specific month. We can use this to determine which crystal is beneficial to each zodiac sign. For example, amethyst is the birthstone of February, making it the birthstone of Aquarians and Pisceans born in that month.

Nowadays, there are 2 lists of birthstones.
On one hand there are the traditional birthstones, which are rooted in The Book of Exodus, which describes Aaron, the priest of the Israelites, wearing a breastplate with 12 stones. Each stone on that breastplate related to one of the Israeli tribes and later linked to the 12 zodiac signs.
Matching a specific stone to a zodiac sign using the traditional list is difficult, as the gemstones were described by color, not a specific stone.

On the other hand, there is the list of modern birthstones, defined by the National Association of Jewelers based partly on the history of Aaron, but also on what is widely available to American jewelers.

Birthstones are thought to bring luck to the wearer and provide it with a comfortable and familiar energy – perfect for when you are feeling a little out of place. This of course, does not mean that you cannot wear another sign’s birthstone.

According to the modern and traditional list of birthstones, garnet is the stone for January. However, many cite rose quartz as an additional option. Consequently, it is associated with Capricorns and Aquarians born in that month.

We can look at the specific properties of each stone to determine which zodiac signs would benefit most from working with it. For example, a stone like fluorite is particularly beneficial to Scorpio as this is a sign that has trouble making up their mind, and fluorite helps with decision making.

Though all signs can benefit from rose quartz, the ones that can use the help of this stone most are Aries and Cancer.

Benefits Rose Quartz For Taurus

We connect Taurus to rose quartz, as both are ruled by or associated with the planet of Venus. This is the planet of love, refinement and beauty – everything the sensual Taurus loves.

With Taurus being both a fixed sign, which is generally not very flexible, and an earth sign, that are relatively stable and unwavering, rose quartz can be exactly what they need. Taurians who wear this stone will most likely feel a little softer and less headstrong. It will be easier to go with the flow and invites Taurus to accept differences.

With being an earth sign also comes being prone to anxiety. With rose quartz being the stone of love, it can help them to release their worries and fears. They’ll feel more calm when working with this loving stone.

Taurus’ fixed, earthy energy also means that they are honest, hardworking and kind people.

Rose quartz can support Taurians to use these qualities to your and other people’s benefit. This way, you’ll be able to empathize with others, whilst also knowing when it is time for you to take care of yourself. It will help you to attract and receive love from others, in the same way Taurus’ give to others.

Benefits Rose Quartz For Libra

We associate Libra with rose quartz, because they are both ruled or associated with Venus. Apart from being the planet of love, it also stands for harmony, beauty and compassion. There is a reason Libra is symbolized by the scales – they value these qualities more than anything.

Libra’s would benefit from keeping a rose quartz on their person as it reminds them of the beauty within themselves. As they have a tendency to only find love in their surroundings and relationships, rose quartz can help have a little more self-love.  This way you can show yourself the love that you so readily give to others.

The fact that Libra is a cardinal sign, that like to take action, and an air sign, the thinkers and communicators of the zodiac, means that they are remarkably good at making friends and making people feel loved. Working with rose quartz can help them to use these qualities, whilst never forgetting that they are just as important as other people.

Benefits Rose Quartz For Aquarius

We associate Aquarius with rose quartz because it is considered one of the birthstones of this sign. As a result, Aquarians will find a comforting and familiar energy around this crystal.

Rose quartz can help Aquarians open up their heart to receive the love they deserve. It invites them calm their emotions so the can live a more balanced and relaxed life.
With Aquarius being a fixed air sign, they are often stuck in their heads, thinking about all the options without showing their emotions. This results in this sign often being misunderstood as cold. Rose quartz promotes mutual understanding and can therefore help Aquarians, and other signs, heal relationship problems.

Benefits Rose Quartz For Capricorn

Capricorn is associated with rose quartz because it is considered one of the birthstones for February. Consequently, Capricorns will find comfort and familiarity when working with this stone.

Rose quartz can also help the hardworking Capricorn to let go of stress and anxiety and instead invites them to accept calmness. After all, Capricorns can sometimes be a bit intense – not just at work, but also in everyday life. Rose quartz can inspire them to be calmer. They’ll be able to leave work alone for a little while, and perhaps even do something that makes them feel love(d). This all will only benefit them, by giving them more energy for the projects that they have taken on.

Benefits Rose Quartz For Aries

Aries is not associated with rose quartz as a birthstone or even the planet Venus. In fact, it is associated with the exact opposite planet; Mars, the planet of action, passion, and aggression. You can think of Venus and Mars like the Moon and Sun. Neither is better, and we need both, but a good balance between both is desirable.

By inviting rose quartz in their lives, chaotic Aries can learn to more calm. It will encourage them to choose unconditional love over judgement. They will achieve a more balanced life and harmony in relationships, both romantic and platonic, by actively working with rose quartz.

Benefits Rose Quartz For Cancer

Though rose quartz is not associated with cancer for its birthstone or planet, it can still benefit hugely from working with this stone.

This water sign is known for being sensitive and good at reading people. Two wonderful qualities that can wear a person out if used to much. Rose quartz can recharge a burnt out cancer. After all, this stone is connected to the heart chakra, which is all about love for ourselves and the world around us.

On the other hand, cancers can become a little too emotional and eventually hold on to grudges or bitterness. Rose quartz invites you to let go of them and invite love into your life instead.

As a result, cancer will be able to use their beautiful, intuitive qualities to help them, instead of work against them.
